I have spent most of my working life in the creative industries as an advertising art director, graphic designer, illustrator, and photographer. In 1998, I decided to follow my real passion, fine art, receiving a BA in Fine Art Painting (1st class) at the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham. After completing my degree, I set up a studio; however, after the birth of my son, I decided to return to the world of advertising. Fast forward to 2025, and I have restarted my fine art career with a new body of work. Working mainly with charcoal on paper.

I am drawn to natural forms with a particular interest in surface topography, volume, and weight. I like to play with scale, and the resulting images are often ambiguous. I am heavily influenced by the Baroque period, using the technique of chiaroscuro to create volume. The forms emerge from a velvet black background that adds to the mysterious nature of the image.
